This image is of Bono, lead singer of U2, in concert in London on November 28th, 1984. Paul David Hewson (born May 10, 1960) was nicknamed Bono Vos, an alteration of Bona Vox, a brand of hearing aid for which the Latin translates to "good voice." For his stage name, he shortened it to Bono.

He is the lead singer and sometimes rhythm guitarist of the Irish rock group. Bono lives in Dublin with his family and had a villa in Southern France as well as an apartment in New York City.

U2 guitarist The Edge and singer Bono perform during the first of two sold-out shows of their "Vertigo" tour at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on November 4th, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The band is touring in support of the album "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb." Founded in 1976, U2 has consistently remained among the most popular acts in the world since the mind 1980s. The band has sold approximately 50.5 million albums in the U.S.
