Princess Diana was born on July 1, 1961. She helped run a kindergarten school in London before her marriage to Prince Charles on July 28, 1981, in a spectacular wedding at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. She was the first Englishwoman to marry an heir to the throne in more than 300 years. An estimated 750 million people around the world watched the royal wedding live on television.

Because of her stunning good looks and impeccable fashion sense, Diana was renowned as "the most photographed woman in the world." She was also passionate in her pursuit of justice and her desire to rid the world of AIDS. At the time of her death, Diana was a patron of six charities.
