The History of Porsche
The History of Porsche

On September 3, 1875, the birth of Ferdinand Porsche, in then Austria-Hungary, signaled the eventual launch of Porsche GmbH - a company that would set standards for racing and make spectators' hearts go wild for the next two centuries. Ferdinand Porsche was one of two men credited with designing the Volkswagen Beetle, but that was only the beginning. Both Porsche's sons designed cars also, with grandson F. A. Porsche eventually conceiving of the flagship 911, one of the vehicles that would make possible an astounding 28,000 racing victories for Porsche. Along the way, there was the Porsche 356, the Spyder, the first 911s, the 928 and 924. From the first VW to today's outrageous looking (but still tasteful) 911 GT 3RS, the company has always been unpredictable. Porsche vehicles continue to turn heads; the only problem is turning fast enough to get a glimpse!
