Ferrari, a name synonymous with the most sophisticated cars in the world, is best known for visionary planning, excellence in automobile production and world-class design. Now you can own a piece of Ferrari race car history, as The Franklin Mint is proud to offer The Ferrari 1961 250 GT SWB Competizione!
This car is a 1:18 precision of the Competizione version of the Ferrari 250 GT SWB. From the mid-1950s through the beginning of the 1960s, the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinettas dominated the GT-class races around the world. The production of Berlinettas started with a long wheel base version, followed by the introduction of a short wheel base version in 1959. The latter became a fixture, the 250 Series eventually phasing out of production.
This exquisite car is an all-metal precision model hand-assembled from more than 1,100 single parts. The Competizione comes with many distinctive features, including additional front air inlets for cooling the disk brakes, extra large 16 inch wheels, 6.00 x 16 (front) and 6.50 x 16 (rear), undercarriage including cover plate, quick-lifting jacking points, movable racing tank, trunk with a larger tank (130 litres) and removable spare wheel, carburetor system with open induction intakes and air box.
