1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Stirling Moss Model Car Signed Ed. by CMC
There’s only one manufacturer that dominated the race car world in the 1920’s; only one whose form is as unrivaled as its function. There is only one legend; one icon of world-class performance. There’s only one...Mercedes-Benz.
This 1:18 scale precision model car is a detail-exact miniature of the elegant and powerful Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR that Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson drove to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia, the famously treacherous endurance race through Italy. The British duo received the starting number 722, indicating their exact start-off time was 7:22 am.
This zinc alloy model car is hand-assembled from more than 1,500 single parts. This model car is an exact replica down to the minute details, including a three-spoke steering wheel preferred by Stirling Moss and the roller-map invented by Denis Jenkinson with a six-meter paper roll that recorded all the track information gathered from the trial runs. The model car is delivered with the service panel removed (but included in the accessory) — just as Moss wanted during the race in order to save time in case of an emergency
