Quick Overview

Gold has always been treasured for its beauty and lasting value, and classic United States gold coins are the most respected and sought-after in the world. But the last circulating gold coins were minted more than 70 years ago, and over 90% of all U.S. gold coins were melted by the U.S. government in the 1930's. Millions more were melted for quick profits when the price of gold bullion shot up. As a result, only a tiny fraction of the original coins remain – especially in Extremely Fine condition.

This is the perfect time to start – or add to – your collection of United States gold coins.

Gold has always been treasured for its beauty and lasting value, and classic United States gold coins are the most respected and sought-after in the world. But the last circulating gold coins were minted more than 75 years ago; over 90% of all U.S. gold coins were melted by the U.S. government in the 1930s. Millions more were melted for quick profits when the price of gold bullion shot up. As a result, only a tiny fraction of the original gold coins remain – especially in Extremely Fine condition.

This coin was minted in .900 Fine Gold and contains .12094 oz. of pure gold.

Indian Head Gold Coins are the most stunning coins in history – as well as the last gold coins made for circulation. The $2.50 coin has a very unique "incuse" design that is recessed into the surface, rather than standing above it. Boston sculptor Bela Lyon Pratt created these designs during President Theodore Roosevelt’s presidency.

  • Your coin will arrive inside a handsome Franklin Mint velvet pouch accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
  • Minted from 1908 to 1929.
  • Diameter of 18mm.
