Description

Philadelphia was the original United States Mint – and the first to strike the spectacular Morgan Silver Dollar in 1878. In fact, the coin is named after George T. Morgan, who created the timeless design in the very same U.S. Mint building in Philadelphia, where the first coins were struck!

Most of the Morgan Silver Dollars from Philadelphia were worn out or damaged in circulation...and more than 50% of all coins were melted by the U.S. Government to help pay for World War I. It'ss a miracle any have survived. Fortunately, we have assembled a number of hand-selected collections of the first five Morgan Silver Dollars from the Philadelphia Mint, including the historic, first-ever 1878 coin.

Each coin is in Very Fine or Better Condition, individually protected in a clear capsule, and the collection is housed in a handsome cherrywood-finish display case. A rare and magnificent Morgan Silver Dollar coin collection set.
