This is an image of Miles Davis taking a break from a recording session in October of 1963. Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26th, 1926 - September 28th, 1991) was one of the most influential and innovative musicians of the 20th century. A trumpeter, bandleader and composer, Davis was at the forefront of almost every major development in jazz after World War II.

He played on some of the important early bebop records and recorded the first cool jazz records. His release of "Birth of the Cool" ushered in the "Cool School" of jazz with artists like Chet Baker and Gerry Mulligan. With the issuance of his album "Kind of Blue," he helped expand the world of improvisational jazz.

This Limited Edition Fine Art Giclee is printed on acid-free Mead paper with a hand-torn deckled edge. It is hand-titled and hand-numbered and features an embossed seal of authenticity from the Hulton|Archive Collection.
