Description

A streamlined Hudson steam locomotive on the New York Central Train System. Displaying handsome Art Deco looks, Henry Dryfuss, who employed a streamline aesthetic in much of his industrial work, designed this locomotive. It was built by the American Locomotive Company.

Art Deco design developed both as a reaction against the "organic" approach to design displayed in the Art Nouveau style and as a celebration of the machine age. Photographed by Robert Yarnall Richie, circa 1933.

This Limited Edition Fine Art Giclee is printed on acid-free Mead paper with a hand-torn deckled edge. It is hand-titled and hand-numbered and features an embossed seal of authenticity from the Hulton|Archive of London Collection.

Details:
  • Edition limited to 275 pieces.
  • Approximate framed size is 27" x 32" and the raw size is 17" x 22".
  • ©Hulton|Archive of London
