America's Vintage Paper Money
Generations ago, America's banknotes were beautiful works of art. Many were backed by real silver in the U.S. Treasury and until 1923, they were issued in the classic "large" size that is much larger than today's modern paper money. However, most vintage banknotes were worn out in circulation or destroyed long ago when they were redeemed at banks. This is a rare opportunity to acquire these fascinating and sought-after pieces of American history.
During the Civil War from 1861 to 1865, the Confederate States of America issued its own unique currency that circulated in the rebel states in place of U.S. currency. Each carefully crafted banknote features a fascinating vignette of a Civil War scene or a significant building in Confederate history, as well as the portrait of a famous Confederate leader. Almost all Confederate currency was destroyed shortly after the Civil War ended more than 140 years ago, but we were able to secure a small supply of genuine $20 notes. These are authentic pieces of American history that are becoming increasingly hard to find.
Each banknote is guaranteed to be in Extremely Fine or better condition.
