Description

1936 Auto Union Type C Diecast Car

The Auto Union teams dominated motor racing from 1934 until the outbreak of the Second World War. Dubbed the Silver Arrows, these cars demonstrated technical advances that were not seen again on racing cars for several decades. Now you can own one of the most unique and extraordinary race cars in history – the 1936 Auto Union Type C.

This spectacular car is a 1:18 scale precision replica diecast model car of the revolutionary Auto Union Type C driven by Bernd Rosemeyer. The Type C used an unconventional design with the 520 hp V-16 engine mounted behind the driver and ahead of the rear axle. Although this is normal race car practice today, it was an extremely innovative maneuver back in 1936.

Our Auto Union Type C diecast car is hand-assembled from 1,026 parts into an exceptional precision diecast car. The single parts are of high-quality materials: 23 parts of zinc alloy, 754 of metal or copper and 153 of plastic. The remaining 96 parts are screws, rivets or simulated heads. This model, bearing starting number 4, is a Limited-Edition of 5,000 Diecast Cars. Bernd Rosemeyer drove #4 to victory in the 1936 Grand Prix of Germany.
